Summary Post: Switzerland

Switzerland was wet and cloudy, but I still rode on.. Here’s the summary!
I didn’t see a lot of the sun in Switzerland. I think I’ll have to go back sometime in the future to go hiking and biking in the Alps. Maybe with a mountainbike so I can really explore those hills!
  • Days in country: 13
  • Days riding: 8
  • Kilometres ridden: 580 km (longest day 97km)
  • Running total (nearest 10km): 1720km
  • Accom cost: ~280 Euro (expensive hostels as I couldn’t be bothered camping in the rain for 2 weeks)
  • Other costs: ~264 Euro (Half of which was bike stuff- a new wheel and lots of other tools)
  • Flats: 3 (rear- all after getting the new wheel)
  • Days I saw the sun in those 13 days: 3
  • Favourite food/drink: Raclette- mmm, grilled cheese with potatoes!
  • 0 nights in campgrounds,  6 nights in a hostel and 7 nights with Warmshowers hosts/kiwi’s living abroad.
  • Favourite photo: Road to Zurich. This sums up Switzerland for me- hilly countryside with great cycle paths!

Winding through the countryside on cycle paths!

And the map of the route:
